Position Summary

Little Brook Learning Center seeks an experienced leader to oversee daily operations and enrollment, reporting directly to the owner. Serving as the center’s primary director, this hands-on leader will supervise staff, strengthen family service, manage admissions, increase enrollment, improve family retention, and expand recruitment channels. The director must take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and resolve routine staff, family, and operational issues independently. Occasional travel for conferences may be required.

Part Time With Opportunity to Grow

The position will begin at approximately 25 to 30 hours per week. It may transition to full time when sustained enrollment, recurring revenue, center needs, and successful job performance support additional hours. No specific full-time date is guaranteed; progress will be reviewed during the first 90 days and periodically thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and hold employees accountable for attendance, communication, conduct, and performance.
  • Oversee daily operations, staffing coverage, schedules, safety, cleanliness, and required records.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, conduct tours, and follow up with prospective families.
  • Track leads, tours, enrollments, withdrawals, and recurring tuition growth.
  • Support parent satisfaction by resolving routine concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Build referral relationships and assist with enrollment promotions and outreach.
  • Provide the Owner with a concise weekly operations, staffing, and enrollment report.
  • Escalate serious safety, licensing, legal, financial, or personnel matters immediately.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years child care leadership experience, center operations, enrollment or a related management role, enrollment management systems and student information systems.
  • Knowledge of Maryland child care licensing requirements is strongly preferred.
  • Strong supervision, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to track results, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and use office technology.
  • Professional judgment and the ability to work independently while keeping the Owner informed.
  • Must meet all background, health, training, and qualification requirements for the position.
  • Experience in child care leadership, center operations, enrollment, or a related management role.
  • Knowledge of Maryland child care licensing requirements strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years daycare center experience with enrollment management systems and student information systems .
