Octagon Talent Solutions is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a growing organization in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This role will design, secure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises locations and Microsoft Azure. As the go-to engineer for Fortinet, Juniper and Palo Alto Networks technologies, you will strengthen hybrid connectivity, advance zero-trust security, and improve infrastructure reliability as the organization scales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Palo Alto Networks PA-Series and VM-Series firewalls across corporate and project-site environments
- Manage Palo Alto ION SD-WAN, including policy configuration, traffic steering, application-aware routing, and performance optimization
- Administer Prisma Access, GlobalProtect, ZTNA, and cloud-delivered security services for a distributed workforce
- Architect and manage Azure networking, including VNets, peering, Azure Firewall, NSGs, VPN Gateway, and ExpressRoute
- Integrate Palo Alto VM-Series firewalls and Microsoft Entra ID controls across hybrid-cloud environments
- Monitor network health, firewall logs, SD-WAN telemetry, and Azure performance; investigate and remediate alerts
- Lead network segmentation, vulnerability remediation, firewall policy management, and network-related incident response
- Support infrastructure-as-code deployments using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep while embedding security controls from the start
- Maintain network diagrams, runbooks, change records, and technical documentation
- Serve as an escalation point, mentor junior staff, and partner with project teams to deliver secure connectivity for new locations
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with a strong network security focus
- 4+ years administering Palo Alto Networks technologies, including PA-Series, VM-Series, Panorama, PAN-OS, or Strata Cloud Manager
- 2+ years working with Palo Alto ION SD-WAN and CloudGenix or Prisma SD-WAN
- 2+ years administering Prisma Access, GlobalProtect Cloud Service, ZTNA, Secure Web Gateway, or ADEM
- 3+ years of Microsoft Azure networking and security experience, including VNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, and Entra ID
- 2+ years administering Fortinet FortiGate firewalls
- Strong knowledge of zero-trust architecture, BGP, OSPF, QoS, network segmentation, and SD-WAN traffic management
- Experience with Python, PowerShell, Terraform, or similar infrastructure automation tools
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience, plus strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule and travel occasionally to regional offices or project locations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- PCNSE, PCCSE, AZ-700, or AZ-500 certification
- Experience with SIEM platforms and EDR/XDR tools such as CrowdStrike or Microsoft Defender
- Experience supporting distributed, multi-site organizations
- Background in construction, engineering, or another project-based industry
