Day-in-the-Life
Join a manufacturing team in Aberdeen, NC where your expertise with CNC equipment turns raw material into precision parts. Picture your shift: you review work orders and blueprints, set up fixtures and tooling, load material, and launch CNC programs. Throughout the run, you keep a close eye on machine behavior, monitor tooling wear, verify critical dimensions with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures, and make smart offset or basic tool changes to keep quality on target. You close the loop by documenting production and inspection results, tidying your area, and handing off cleanly to the next run.
What You’ll Do
- Operate CNC machines to produce parts that meet blueprint and work-order specifications
- Load/unload raw stock and finished components safely and efficiently
- Set up and secure workpieces with proper fixtures, tooling, and references
- Run CNC programs; follow production instructions and verify against drawings
- Continuously monitor machine performance and process conditions
- Perform in-process checks and final inspections to confirm conformance
- Measure using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures
- Make basic machine adjustments, tool changes, and offset edits as required
- Identify dimensional/quality issues and correct them promptly
- Track tooling condition and replace worn or damaged tools
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and audit-ready
- Follow all safety procedures and required PPE practices
- Consistently meet established throughput and quality targets
What You’ll Bring
- Hands-on CNC machine operation experience (preferred)
- Background in manufacturing or machining
- Ability to interpret blueprints and written work instructions
- Familiarity with CNC controls and general machine operation
- Proven use of precision metrology (calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape)
- Detail orientation with a quality-first mindset
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting capability
- Comfort working independently and within a production team
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/handle materials as needed
