Job Title: General Laborer

Job Description

This role involves supporting concrete construction projects by building forms, assisting with walls and flatwork, and performing a variety of general labor tasks on outdoor job sites. Work is local, and you return home every night after completing a full day on site with a crew of experienced construction professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Build forms and perform all tasks related to constructing concrete walls and flatwork.
  • Assist with shoveling dirt and preparing sites for concrete foundations and flatwork.
  • Haul and position rebar and panels to support form setting and wall construction.
  • Support form setting for walls, foundations, and other structural concrete elements.
  • Perform general labor duties on construction and production sites as directed by supervisors.
  • Work safely and consistently in outdoor conditions, including wind, rain, and varying temperatures.
  • Collaborate with a crew of 57 team members to complete daily project objectives.
  • Maintain and use personal basic tools, including tool belt, tape measure, hammer, and rubber boots.
  • Follow site safety requirements, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Work extended hours when needed, including occasional Saturday mornings, to meet project deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in construction.
  • Experience with concrete work such as forms, finish concrete, flatwork, and concrete walls.
  • Ability to assist with form setting, wall construction, rebar placement, foundations, and flatwork.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding general labor tasks in an outdoor construction environment.
  • Reliability in attending work consistently and working full shifts as scheduled.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a crew of 57 people.
  • Comfort working up to 70 hours per week when projects require extended hours.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, concrete, or carpentry is beneficial.
  • Prior Experience in production or general construction environments is an asset.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and take direction on job sites.
  • Ability to use and maintain basic hand tools such as a tape measure and hammer.
  • No formal certifications required for this role.

Work Environment

The team may work up to 70 hours per week when on location and may include occasional Saturday mornings. You work as part of a crew of 57 people in a work-driven, production-focused environment centered on concrete construction and flatwork. The role requires you to bring and use your own basic tools, including a tool belt, tape measure, hammer, and rubber boots. Dress code includes steel-toe boots, work pants, work shirt, hard hat, and safety glasses to meet safety and site requirements.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, ND.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
