Job Description

ROBOTICS LEAD

Santa Rosa, CA | Full-time direct hire | Onsite (no remote) | Relocation assistance available

Gabriella & Co. is partnering with a confidential technology and electronics manufacturer in Santa Rosa to hire a hands-on Robotics Lead. You will pick the right manufacturing processes to automate, select the technology, and personally program, integrate, commission and scale production-ready cobot and AMR systems, while mentoring the engineers and technicians around you.

This is a factory-floor role, not an R&D or product-development position. The right person has deployed systems in live production and wants to stay technically hands-on while leading.

What you'll lead

  • Identify and prioritize processes suited to automation and build the business and technical case for each
  • Design, program, integrate and commission cobot cells for assembly, material handling, machine tending, inspection and test
  • Deploy AMRs for intelligent material movement, including route planning, fleet coordination and workstation hand-offs
  • Own delivery end to end: requirements, concept, simulation, build, FAT/SAT, validation and production hand-off
  • Integrate robots, sensors, 2D/3D vision, end-effectors and grippers with existing equipment and lines
  • Set technical standards, review designs and mentor engineers, technicians and operators
  • Evaluate robotics and integration vendors, run pilots and scale what delivers on safety, quality and throughput
  • Partner with safety stakeholders on risk assessments and compliance before go-live

What you bring

  • 3+ years of industrial automation or robotics experience deploying systems in a live manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on programming and integration of collaborative robots (Universal Robots or equivalent) with end-effectors, grippers and vision
  • AMR and material-handling automation deployed on a factory floor
  • Cobot simulation and offline programming to validate layouts, cycle times and reachability before build
  • A strong combination of software and mechanical engineering capability
  • Demonstrated project leadership and mentoring while staying deep in technical execution
  • Bachelor's, master's or doctorate in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience

Preferred: ROS/ROS 2; RobotStudio, RoboDK or vendor-equivalent simulation; 2D/3D machine vision, force/torque control and pick-and-place; AMR fleet management and MES/WMS integration; electronics, semiconductor or high-mix/low-volume manufacturing; Creo, SolidWorks or AutoCAD; cobot vendor certifications and working knowledge of ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, ISO 12100 or ISO 13849.

Package: full benefits, relocation assistance, reimbursed interview travel. No regular travel expected. US Citizens or Green Card holders only; no visa sponsorship is available.

To be considered, reply with your resume and a short note on the cobot platforms and AMRs you have personally deployed in production, what you owned on each, and your commissioning and simulation experience. Please also confirm that you have not applied to or been submitted for this role in the past 90 days.
