Distribution Center Manager

Spot On Talent

Dallas, TX • $75,000 to $85,000 / yr • 10/7/2026

Job Description

Job Description

Want to run the warehouse that keeps a respected Texas distributor moving? As Distribution Center Manager you will lead the central distribution center for a long-established, family-owned plumbing supply company. You'll have a solid team in place, report directly to the President, and work Monday through Friday on an early schedule with no Saturdays. The role opened because the last manager was promoted, and they're staying close by to help you get up to speed.

About the Opportunity

Our client supplies plumbers and contractors across North and Central Texas. Their Dallas distribution center stocks every branch and serves customers directly. The DC is taking on more as the company adds customer-facing operations and grows its commercial business. They don't need someone to tear it down and rebuild it. They need a leader who will sharpen what already works, bring new ideas and develop the team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop the DC team, including a supervisor, a lead, pullers, stockers and quality control
  • Run daily operations: receiving, putaway, picking, will call and transfers to branches
  • Keep receiving fast: product received and put away within hours of arriving, not days
  • Own inventory accuracy: cycle counts, location audits and fixing the root causes of errors
  • Keep roughly 20,000 SKUs organized and moving, and help reduce deadstock
  • Oversee the forklifts and box trucks, including maintenance and buying new vehicles
  • Look for ways to improve existing processes, update the SOPs to match, and get more out of the ERP and WMS
  • Work closely with branch managers, purchasing and company leadership

What We're Looking For

Must have:

  • 5+ years in a warehouse or distribution center, including time as a supervisor
  • Plumbing distribution experience, including product knowledge: how pipe and fittings are stored, stacked, supported and protected from moisture
  • Comfort running forklifts and other powered equipment
  • Hands-on experience with an ERP or WMS (no specific system required)
  • Working Excel skills, including filters and pivot tables
  • A valid driver's license

Big plus:

  • Experience with fleet maintenance
  • A college degree

Above all, they want a collaborative, growth-minded leader who coaches people and takes ownership of results. If you've been the person who makes a DC run right and you're ready to lead the whole operation, we'd love to talk.

Competitive salary + annual bonus. Fully benefits eligible.
