Plant Manager

Job Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall operation and performance of this manufacturing facility. This position provides leadership across production, maintenance, quality, safety, and personnel while ensuring the plant meets production goals, customer requirements, and financial objectives. The Plant Manager will drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, cost control, and a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery

  • Manage production, maintenance, quality, safety, and plant personnel

  • Establish and monitor production goals, budgets, KPIs, and operating costs

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements

  • Drive continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, cost reduction, and process optimization initiatives

  • Ensure equipment reliability through effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs

  • Manage staffing, employee performance, training, and leadership development

  • Identify and resolve production, quality, equipment, and operational issues

  • Coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Logistics to meet customer requirements

  • Lead capital improvement projects and support long-term plant strategy

  • Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred

  • 5+ years of plant or operations management experience

  • Strong knowledge of steel manufacturing processes, production, maintenance, and quality systems

  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs, capital projects, and operating costs

  • Knowledge of OSHA, environmental, and industrial safety requirements

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement

  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop a diverse manufacturing workforce
