Description:
The sleep technologist is responsible for downloading, reading and scoring home sleep tests, as well as contacting patients regarding their sleep studies. The expectation of this position is to provide a first class patient experience, with every patient interaction.
- Analyzes and scores data from home sleep studies using a variety of software systems.
- Downloads data from ambulatory recorders and documents results.
- Initializes home sleep study equipment.
- Communicates with patients via phone or in person to discuss sleep study results and provides education and information needed to successfully schedule a setup appointment.
- Successfully completes department KPI’s on a regular basis.
- Works competently in Brightree to access and retrieve patient, insurance and billing information as needed.
- Must be knowledgeable in Patient Rights and Responsibilities, including HIPPA regulations.
- Provides patient demonstrations and trainings on the use of the diagnostic sleep apnea ambulatory recorders.
- Must have regular attendance and be on time for scheduled shifts on Pacific Standard Time (7:00am-3:30 pm or 8:00am-4:30 pm).
Requirements:
- Registered by the board of Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) with 1 plus year of experience in the sleep industry
- Experience with the following systems: Brightree, Sleep image, general Sleep, Nexus 360, Wesper, Ensodata, watchpat
- Must be detail oriented, task focused and organized
- Working knowledge of Spanish language helpful, but not required
- This is a day, remote scoring position
