Summary: The Respooling Operator is responsible for operating respooling equipment, ensuring proper tension control, and accurate winding of materials onto production reels. This role includes inspecting materials for defects, recording production data, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate respooling equipment in accordance with production requirements
  • Monitor and adjust tension controls to ensure proper material handling and product quality
  • Ensure accurate and consistent lay-up of materials onto production reels
  • Inspect braided materials before, during, and after respooling to identify defects
  • Accurately record production output and scrap data
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Miscellaneous as requested

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar manufacturing or machine operation role preferred
  • Basic math proficiency required
  • Ability to read, interpret, and accurately perform measurements
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to bend at the waist, twist, stoop, crouch, and kneel as required
  • Ability to reach in front of the body and above shoulder/head level frequently
  • Frequent use of both hands for handling, grasping, holding, and fingering materials
  • Ability to visually inspect and physically detect defects in materials
  • Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE) is an essential function of this position
