Material Handler

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler responsible for unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places. The role involves utilizing overhead cranes to move materials into different cells, reading tape measures to pull items based on precise measurements, and locating and moving stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment. You will be identifying damages, reporting shortages or quality deficiencies, and using RF scanners and inventory systems extensively. The position also requires operating a sit-down forklift.

• Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles.
• Stack materials in assigned places using overhead cranes.
• Read tape measures accurately to pull items based on measurements down to 1/16th.
• Locate and move stock to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Utilize RF scanners and inventory systems for tracking and management.
• Operate a sit-down forklift efficiently.

• 2+ years of material handling experience.
• 1+ years of overhead crane experience.
• Proficiency in reading tape measures.
• Experience in warehouse environments.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and inventory systems.
• Ability to operate a sit-down forklift.

• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, picking, packing.
• Experience with order pulling and inventory control.
• Understanding of shipping and freight management software.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

The pay range for this position is $21.26 - $22.26/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
