Tree Climber | Green Image | Boynton Beach, FL. Field based, 3 county service area | 4 day work week: Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30 minute lunch. 40 hours in 4 days, Fridays off. Occasional Friday overtime.

LOCATION

Field based across Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Report to the Boynton Beach yard.

SCHEDULE

Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a 30 minute lunch break. That is a full 40 hours in 4 days, and Fridays off. Occasional overtime on Fridays.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role owns the safe execution of the aerial portion of every tree job you are assigned. You climb it, you rig it, and you decide how it comes down.

You work removals, reductions and palm work on commercial and HOA properties. You direct the ground crew while you are in the tree, and you control the drop zone.

Safety is the accountability that matters most here. Nothing about the production rate justifies an unsafe rigging decision, and you are expected to stop work and say so.

This is a strong fit for a climber who already has the judgment to look at a tree, a target and a set of conditions and decide what can be dropped and what has to be pieced down. You are being hired to bring that judgment with you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Climb and rig assigned removals, reductions and palm work on commercial and HOA properties.
  
• Inspect the tree, the targets and the conditions before the climb and set the rigging plan.
  
• Direct the ground crew and control the drop zone throughout the aerial portion of the job.
  
• Inspect your climbing gear, ropes and saddle before each use and remove anything out of service.
  
• Operate and maintain chainsaws safely, including sharpening and daily condition checks.
  
• Photograph the work in CompanyCam so the property manager can see what was completed.
  
• Stop the job and escalate when conditions, targets or equipment make the planned approach unsafe.
  
• Complete storm and hurricane response work when the company is called out.
  

WHAT YOU WON'T DO

• You will not build the tree production schedule. That is owned by Production.
  
• You will not price, quote or sell tree work to the client.
  
• You will not own hiring, discipline or scheduling for the ground crew.
  
• You will not own fleet, chipper or equipment repair. You report condition, the shop performs the work.
  
• You will not perform landscape maintenance work between tree jobs.
  

TOOLS

• Climbing saddle, ropes, friction devices, SRT and DdRT systems
  
• Rigging: blocks, port a wrap, slings, rigging lines
  
• Chainsaws, top handle and rear handle, and pole saws
  
• Chipper, and crane assisted removals where the job calls for it
  
• Required PPE including helmet, eye and ear protection and chaps
  
• CompanyCam for job site photo documentation
  

REQUIREMENTS

• 2 plus years of climbing production, not occasional climbing
  
• Competent on rope and saddle, SRT or DdRT
  
• Able to perform an aerial rescue and has practiced one
  
• Rigging judgment: can decide when to piece down and when a drop is safe
  
• Operates and maintains a chainsaw properly
  
• Able to direct a ground crew and control a drop zone
  
• Valid Florida driver license and a driving record acceptable to our insurer
  
• Able to work outdoors in South Florida heat, humidity and rain year round
  
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist
  
• Preferred: TCIA CTSP, crane experience, and South Florida palm species knowledge
  

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• Zero recordable safety incidents on assigned jobs.
  
• Pre climb inspection of tree, targets and conditions completed on every job.
  
• Climbing gear inspected before each use and out of service gear removed and reported.
  
• Assigned jobs completed to the scope written on the work order.
  
• CompanyCam documentation completed on every assigned job.
  
• Unsafe conditions are escalated and work stopped rather than worked around.
