Our team works together to design, sell, fabricate, print, install, and service a wide variety of signage. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a highly organized and customer-focused Sign Project Manager who can take ownership of projects and help deliver an outstanding experience from initial request through final installation.
The Opportunity
The Sign Project Manager serves as a primary point of contact for assigned customers and projects. This person is responsible for coordinating projects from estimating and order entry through design, permitting, production, installation, and final completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, solving problems, managing multiple priorities, and working closely with sales, design, production, vendors, and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned sign projects from initial customer request through final installation and project closeout.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and provide clear, professional, and timely communication throughout each project.
- Prepare estimates, proposals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Review project requirements to ensure scope, specifications, pricing, timelines, and customer expectations are clearly defined.
- Coordinate projects with our sales, design, permitting, production, printing, purchasing, and installation teams.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and proactively identify potential delays or issues.
- Purchase materials and outside services and create purchase orders as required.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, municipalities, landlords, general contractors, and other outside partners when necessary.
- Monitor project costs and help ensure projects are completed on time and within the estimated budget.
- Communicate changes in project scope, schedule, or cost to customers and internal team members.
- Maintain accurate project information, documentation, approvals, and customer correspondence.
- Follow up with customers after project completion to ensure satisfaction and identify additional opportunities.
- Participate in project and production meetings and help identify priorities and potential roadblocks.
- Occasionally attend customer meetings, networking events, site visits, and industry events.
- Work collaboratively with the entire Innovative Signs team to continuously improve our processes and customer experience.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of project management, account management, inside sales, construction coordination, manufacturing, or related experience.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of issues through resolution.
- Comfortable working independently while also being a strong team contributor.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn estimating, project management, and business software.
- Ability to work full-time, in person at our Waukesha, Wisconsin facility.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in the sign industry.
- Experience in commercial construction, manufacturing, architectural products, printing, graphics, or another project-based environment.
- Experience preparing estimates, proposals, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Experience coordinating field installation or subcontracted services.
- Familiarity with reading drawings, plans, specifications, or sign schedules.
