About the Role:
The Arc of LaGrange County is seeking a Relief Staff member to join our team in Howe, Indiana. As a Relief Staff member, you will provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in various settings, including group habilitation and prevocational settings. This is a full-time, rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
Assist Housekeeper at breaks and lunch, preparing for and cleaning up after individual's morning and afternoon breaks
Assist with morning care and preparation
Monitor snack machine and help individuals make purchases and open snacks
Wipe down tables after 2nd break and fill creamer, sugar, forks, and spoons
Provide relief for Group Habilitation staff, instructing small group training and signing progress notes
Document behavior tallies, accident/incident reports, and seizure reports and take action according to The Arc of LaGrange County policy
Provide relief for Prevocational staff in workshop and lunchroom, closing supervision of individuals and helping them work up to their potential
Record data on each individual's progress towards their individual goals and objectives
Keep accurate time sheets on all skill performance
Make every effort to see that tasks are done accurately
Conduct activities in an environment created to stimulate the learning process during downtime
Show initiative and be creative while complying with the wishes of the Lead Prevocational Supervisor or Prevocational Work Training Manager
Assist with passing out, collecting, and inspecting skill work to/from individuals
Requirements:
0 years of experience (minimum)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
