We are seeking a dependable, experienced Rental Maintenance Technician to handle day-to-day repairs, maintenance requests, property turnovers, and general upkeep of residential rental properties.
This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, works well independently, and is comfortable handling a wide variety of residential repairs. We are looking for a true jack-of-all-trades who can troubleshoot a problem, determine what needs to be done, and complete the repair correctly without needing constant supervision.
Responsibilities include:
- Complete maintenance requests and general property repairs
- Troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, appliance, and other residential maintenance issues
- Repair and replace faucets, toilets, drains, garbage disposals, supply lines, fixtures, switches, outlets, and lighting
- Perform drywall repair, painting, caulking, and touch-up work
- Repair doors, locks, cabinets, trim, flooring, siding, decks, and other building components
- Install or replace appliances, fixtures, hardware, and other materials
- Perform basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
- Complete rental turnovers and make-ready work
- Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential problems before they become larger repairs
- Pick up and purchase materials needed for assigned jobs
- Keep work areas clean and professional
- Maintain company tools and equipment
- Communicate clearly regarding repairs completed, additional work needed, and materials required
- Recognize when a repair should be handled by a licensed or specialized contractor
- Occasionally assist with remodeling or construction projects when maintenance work allows
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance, handyman, remodeling, or residential construction experience preferred
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general residential repairs
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities
- Dependable and able to show up consistently
- Good communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools
- Ability to lift construction materials, climb ladders, and perform physical work throughout the day
