Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to support student housing operations for an education organization in Los Angeles, California. This contract position has the potential to become permanent and will oversee housing assignment activities, maintain accurate occupancy records, and provide responsive service to students and campus partners. The ideal candidate brings strong administrative experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the intake and processing of housing applications and residential agreements for students seeking campus or affiliated housing.
• Manage room placements by matching students with appropriate spaces and roommate arrangements across residence halls, apartments, and other housing sites.
• Handle room reassignment requests by reviewing student needs, explaining available options, and updating records within housing systems.
• Review assignment data regularly to identify discrepancies, correct errors, and maintain reliable occupancy information.
• Use housing and workflow tools to track requests, manage documentation, monitor communications, and support daily operational processes.
• Prepare and distribute reports such as occupancy summaries, resident lists, and other housing metrics to support planning and decision-making.
• Respond promptly to student and staff inquiries related to assignments, availability, and occupancy matters while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
• Maintain housing materials and online information, ensuring applications, agreements, pricing details, and related content remain current and accurate.
• Partner with internal departments to address placement needs, including accommodation-related requests and other special housing considerations.
• Provide general administrative support for housing operations, including front office assistance, coordination tasks, and oversight of student workers when assigned.• At least 3 years of progressive administrative or office support experience, preferably in housing, student services, or another high-volume service setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear correspondence, reports, and informational materials.
• Proven ability to balance competing priorities, manage large volumes of requests, and work independently with sound judgment.
• Proficiency in standard business software, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, and publishing tools.
• Experience maintaining data accuracy in administrative systems; familiarity with housing management platforms or project tracking tools is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and collaborate across multiple organizational levels.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, discretion, and commitment to handling sensitive information with confidentiality.
