We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join a manufacturing organization in Ogden, Utah. This position supports accurate financial reporting by evaluating production costs, monitoring inventory-related activity, and strengthening general ledger accuracy throughout the close process. The ideal candidate brings hands-on manufacturing accounting experience, strong analytical judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, fully on-site environment.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate production spending, inventory movements, and cost fluctuations to help ensure reliable financial results.

• Oversee product cost records, including standard costing data, and review updates for accuracy and consistency.

• Prepare and support inventory reconciliations while maintaining dependable cost information across reports and accounting records.

• Provide cost-based insights that contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning activities.

• Collaborate with plant leadership and finance partners to identify performance patterns and support expense management efforts.

• Assist with month-end accounting activities by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and compiling reporting schedules.

• Uphold internal control standards and follow established accounting procedures to support compliance and reporting integrity.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Several years of accounting experience, including direct responsibility for cost accounting functions.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
• Familiarity with month-end close activities and financial reporting support.
• Strong analytical ability with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
• Knowledge of general ledger processes, standard costing, cost analysis, and inventory-related accounting.
