Job Description
AmeriCare Health LLC is hiring a compassionate, dependable Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-on-one private duty nursing care for a pediatric patient in Franklin, Virginia. We are seeking a nurse with experience in pediatric tracheostomy care, ventilator support, and tube feeding.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized, age-appropriate nursing care according to provider orders and the established care plan.
- Perform tracheostomy care and suctioning as needed.
- Monitor ventilator function, respond to alarms, and recognize changes in respiratory status.
- Administer tube feedings, prescribed water flushes, and medications through the feeding tube.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Monitor vital signs and observe changes in the child’s condition, comfort, and behavior.
- Document care accurately and report changes promptly.
- Follow infection-control procedures and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- Communicate effectively with the child, parents or guardians, and healthcare team.
- Support the child’s comfort and daily routines while providing compassionate, family-centered care.
Qualifications
- Active RN or LPN license valid for practice in Virginia.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Pediatric nursing experience and demonstrated competency in tracheostomy care, ventilator support, and tube feeding.
- Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to provide care independently within nursing scope and follow the patient’s care plan.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
