About the Company:

This VA healthcare environment provides comprehensive medical and pharmacy services to Veterans within a highly regulated federal clinical setting. Pharmacists work closely with physicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals to ensure medication therapy is safe, effective, appropriately dosed, accurately documented, and consistent with established standards.

Position Summary:

The Pharmacist will provide comprehensive pharmacy services, including medication dispensing, prescription review, therapeutic evaluation, patient counseling, clinical consultation, documentation, and controlled-substance accountability. The Pharmacist will also identify potential medication-related concerns and communicate appropriate alternatives to healthcare providers.

Schedule:

• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• 7:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• 8-, 11-, or 12-hour shifts
• Weekend and holiday coverage may be required

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Pharmacist license to practice in Arizona
• Relevant clinical pharmacy experience
• Experience reviewing and verifying medication orders
• Knowledge of drug interactions, allergies, therapeutic duplication, dosing, and medication safety
• Experience providing patient medication counseling
• Experience with electronic patient or pharmacy record systems
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing controlled substances
• Must be comfortable standing for at least 7 hours
