About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Your expertise will help support the organization’s financial health through precise data entry, account reconciliation, and financial analysis. Key Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping duties including accounts payable and receivable management, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central software.
- Reconcile bank statements, balance sheets, and general ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare journal entries for month-end closing activities while adhering to double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain confidential financial information with the highest level of integrity while handling sensitive data securely.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts by analyzing Excel data and performing spreadsheet data analysis.
- Support internal controls by adhering to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards and assisting with audits as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting. Strong understanding of debits & credits, journal entries, and account analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus.
- Familiarity with GAAP standards and governmental accounting practices is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suiteespecially Excel for data analysis.
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience handling confidential information responsibly and ethically.
- Strong communication skills with a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and technical accounting practices is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
