Position Overview: As a Starbucks Barista at the Hilton Garden Inn Wichita Downtown, you are the face of our morning energy and high standard of service. You will craft handcrafted espresso beverages, tea, and food items following signature Starbucks standards while delivering warm, efficient, and welcoming hospitality to hotel guests and local patrons alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve premium Starbucks coffee, handcrafted espresso beverages, teas, and food items strictly adhering to Starbucks recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by warmly greeting guests, taking accurate orders, making personalized product recommendations, and handling payments cleanly and efficiently via the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a pristine, organized, and fully stocked counter, espresso bar, prep areas, and guest seating space in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, and sanitization of espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and coffee brewing equipment throughout the shift.
- Monitor stock levels, rotate dairy and food products according to FIFO guidelines, and assist with inventory management and daily restock.
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and cash-handling policies established by hotel leadership and brand guidelines.
Requirements: Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Previous barista or food service/hospitality experience preferred; prior Starbucks experience is a major plus.
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on delivering warm, high-quality hospitality.
- Speed & Multitasking: Ability to work efficiently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a calm demeanor in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Cash Handling: Basic math proficiency and comfort operating POS systems and managing transactions accurately.
- Availability: Flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operational needs.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift up to 30 lbs.
