Salary: $100,000–$160,000 per year

Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Plant Controller to oversee the financial and budgeting operations of our manufacturing facility in Richmond, Virginia.

In this role, you’ll work closely with plant leadership, our shared services team, and colleagues across the organization to provide financial guidance, analyze operational performance, and identify opportunities to improve processes and profitability.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional with strong cost accounting and FP&A experience in a manufacturing environment, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with teams at all levels.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Oversee plant financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting activities.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, annual, and in-month financial reports for management.

  • Maintain standard costs and perform variance, profitability, and operational KPI analysis.

  • Partner with plant leadership to identify financial and operational challenges and recommend solutions.

  • Support the annual operating budget and ongoing forecasts.

  • Analyze budget-to-actual results and provide meaningful insights to management.

  • Monitor and safeguard company assets, with a focus on inventory and capital assets.

  • Assist with plant cash planning and forecasting.

  • Provide financial support for operational decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Work closely with the shared services and global finance teams to improve processes, reporting, and financial models.

  • Help implement corrective actions and ensure strong financial and operational performance.

  • Provide support on other financial topics, including insurance and risk-related matters.

  • Ensure compliance with company accounting, quality, health, and safety policies.

  • Travel approximately 5% of the time, including occasional domestic and international travel.

What You Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting designation is a plus.

  • At least 5 years of general accounting experience, with strong FP&A and financial analysis experience.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.

  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • At least 3 years of experience working with an ERP system that includes experience with SAP.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across departments and organizational levels.

  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced office, manufacturing, and warehouse environment.

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and local financial/tax regulations.

  • Willingness to work additional hours when needed to meet business deadlines.

  • Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally
