Must have Skill Set:

  • Capital Project / CapEx Management – Proven experience managing industrial or manufacturing capital projects, ideally $500K–$2M.
  • Equipment Installation – Hands-on experience with production lines, machinery, process equipment, or other manufacturing equipment installations.
  • Contractor & Vendor Management – Experience coordinating contractors and vendors through installation, startup, and commissioning.
  • Manufacturing Project Execution – Ability to manage projects within an active manufacturing environment while balancing safety, schedule, production, and stakeholder requirements.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support multiple capital projects within a large-scale manufacturing facility. This role will oversee projects ranging from approximately $500K to $2M, with a strong focus on production equipment, process equipment, equipment installation, facility modifications, and commissioning.
This is a highly hands-on position requiring regular interaction with contractors, vendors, plant personnel, and Engineering leadership. The Project Manager will help drive projects from initial planning and site walks through installation, startup, commissioning, and closeout while minimizing disruption to ongoing production.

Job Duties:

  • Manage multiple capital projects simultaneously, typically ranging from $500K to $2M.
  • Coordinate project scope, schedules, milestones, budgets, contractors, vendors, and deliverables.
  • Serve as the onsite representative for Engineering throughout project execution.
  • Conduct site walks, contractor walkthroughs, equipment assessments, and pre-project planning activities.
  • Coordinate contractors, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, and plant personnel.
  • Support contractor selection, project estimates, proposals, and execution planning.
  • Oversee equipment installation, construction, modifications, startup, and commissioning.
  • Track project progress and communicate risks, issues, schedule changes, and recommendations to Engineering and plant leadership.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Safety, Quality, and other plant stakeholders.
  • Identify and address project issues early to keep projects moving forward.
  • Support punch lists, commissioning documentation, project closeout, and final turnover.
  • Work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, when required for installations, shutdowns, or project activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven project management experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong experience managing capital projects / CapEx.
  • Hands-on experience with production equipment, machinery, process equipment, or equipment installation.
  • Experience managing projects in the $500K–$2M range.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, equipment suppliers, and plant personnel.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, scope management, budgeting, and execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear updates to Engineering and plant leadership.
  • Comfortable working onsite and being highly visible on the manufacturing floor.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours or weekends based on project requirements.
  • Engineering degree preferred; equivalent hands-on manufacturing and project management experience will be considered.
