Job Title: Press OperatorJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our team. The role involves operating stamping presses ranging from 400 to 4,000 tons and requires the setup and feeding of metal to achieve precise customer specifications. This position offers opportunities for both manual and automated press operation. You will work on either the 1st Shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (Monday to Friday) or the 2nd Shift from 4:30 pm to 5:00 am (Monday to Thursday), with overtime available after shifts and on Fridays.

Responsibilities
  • Operate stamping presses ranging from 400 to 4,000 tons.
  • Set up and feed metal to meet customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges for part inspection.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and efficiently.
  • Rotate to different work areas based on production needs.
  • Load steel coils accurately and align them with tooling.
  • Communicate die repairs to die shop personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform required preventative maintenance.
  • Report faulty equipment and defective material to supervisor.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of press experience.
  • Experience operating stamping press machinery.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and work instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with blueprint reading and lathe operation.
  • Skills in punch press, press brake, and micrometer use.
  • Mechanically inclined with machine operation knowledge.
  • Familiarity with tool and die, die cut, and die setting.
  • Background in fabrication, sheet metal, and metal stamping.

Work Environment

Our facility is a steel manufacturing environment characterized by loud noise levels where hearing protection is required. The site consists of three buildings, and candidates will work in the area housing the press machines. The facility is not temperature-controlled and involves large equipment in a dirtier setting, heavily focused on the automotive industry.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47528.00 - $49088.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a Steel Manufacturing environment so it is very loud. Candidates will have to wear hearing protection, if they come from this industry it should be to no surprise. Presses are massive as they are stamping out different parts for the automotive industry. They have multiple buildings depending on what part of the process they are running. These candidates will be placed where all of the Press Machines are. this is a steel manufacturing facility, very large equipment, dirtier, not temperature controlled. 3 buildings at this site, this is the headquarters.
