Quality Inspector

Title: Inspector II
Location: Aiken, SC 29805
Pay Rate: $27/hr
Duration: Temp to Hire
2nd shift: 3:15 pm to 1:45 am

Summary:

• In this role as a QA, you will work with a coordinate measurement machine (CMM) to inspect machined and/or welded parts to blueprint requirements for shipment to customer base.
• You'll also provide auditing support to shop floor operations.
• Performing scheduled calibrations on measurement instruments to meet industry standards. Documenting calibration activities, test results for compliance and traceability.
• Collaborating with engineers, and other technical personnel to resolve issues concerning gage requirements.
• Suggesting equipment upgrades and maintaining calibration tools and supplies Note: Position supports Second, Weekend Shift

Skills Required:

• Must have experience with and/or knowledge of basic inspection tools including scales, calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.
• Able to read, comprehend, and work to blueprints.
• Able to support Day Shift and Weekend Shift. Technical knowledge of calibration standards, measurement principles, and quality control procedures in compliance with NIST and ISO requirements Hands-on experience with calibration tools, electronic test equipment, and software

Skills Preferred:

• Coordinate measurement machine (CMM) experience. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge and experience.
• Weld inspection knowledge/experience.
• Faro Arm/Laser Tracker or Keyence experience.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills for accurate data interpretation Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to identify and correct equipment deviations
• Physical dexterity for standing, crouching, or kneeling during inspections and repairs

Education Required:

• Typically requires high school diploma or the equivalent, and one year of related working experience.
