Job Title: Material Handler - 2nd Shift

Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Material Handler in a fast-paced metal service center environment. We supply raw materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and red metals to a diverse range of manufacturing and industrial customers. Our focus is on delivering high-quality metal products efficiently to meet customer demands with a one-day turnaround service. We're looking for Candidates that're interested in being trained to operate cranes/forklifts and use metal cutting tools. These positions will for 13 weeks on 1st shift (7AM-3PM) and then move to a 2nd shift (3PM-11PM) or 3rd Shift (11PM-7AM) schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Pull and prepare customer orders, including metal sheets and metal bars.
  • Extensive training and/or recertify on overhead cranes and side loaders, with cross-training on metal saws, shears, and laser machines.
  • Accurately measure, count, and verify materials to ensure order accuracy.
  • Load and stage materials for shipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies when handling materials and equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in picking, packing, and general labor tasks.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting.
  • Good attitude and light mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency with measuring tapes, inventory management, and RF scanners.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 5075 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial/warehouse environment.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and repetitive motion required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
