Mechanical Engineer – Aerospace & Defense

Location: Englewood, CO
Pay Rate: $59.27/hr
Job Type: Contract 12-months
Schedule: Onsite

Johnson Service Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and improvement of advanced aerospace and defense products and systems in Englewood, CO.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy, and improve advanced mechanical products and systems.
  • Conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems.
  • Support mechanical design and development throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Apply engineering principles and practices to solve complex technical problems.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • Utilize computer-aided engineering and design tools.
  • Support engineering analysis, simulation, testing, and verification activities.
  • Apply and interpret GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
  • Support manufacturing and production processes as needed.
  • Select appropriate materials and hardware for mechanical applications.
  • Develop and support parametric designs and model-based definitions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 6+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering/design teams.
  • Experience with GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with engineering simulation, including FEA / Finite Element Analysis.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace and/or defense industry experience.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Experience with thermal analysis.
  • Knowledge of parametric design and Model-Based Definition (MBD).
  • Experience with material and hardware selection.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard mechanical design principles.
