Colby Community College (CCC) invites applications for a part-time
Staff Assistant to assist in the campus bookstore and the student accounts office by providing customer service, assists with routine account inquiries, basic office functions, merchandise sales, stocking, and other daily activities.
The staring salary for this part-time, hourly position is
$15.00 - $16.00 per year in hour on the selected candidates, education and experience.
This is a non-benefitted position and doesn't offer any benefits.
This position is part-time, will work no more than 20 hours in a week, with working hours between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday - Friday.
Qualifications - Minimum
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
Qualifications - Preferred
- 1 Year of Experience in a customer service, retail sales, cashiering, or general office support.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale system or basic office software.
Essential Responsibilities
Student Accounts Support:
- Assist students and visitors with routine questions regarding student accounts, payment procedures, and Business Office services.
- Accept and process student payments and other routine transactions as authorized and in accordance with established College procedures.
- Assist with basic data entry, document preparation, filing, and maintenance of student account records.
- Refer complex account questions, billing discrepancies, refund inquiries, and other financial matters to appropriate Business Office personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality of student financial information and records in accordance with College policies and applicable regulations.
Trojan Trading Post Operations:
- Assist with daily operations of the Trojan Trading Post, including customer service, merchandise sales, and point-of-sale transactions.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and maintain clean and orderly retail displays.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking, labeling, and organizing merchandise and course materials.
- Support routine inventory counts and report discrepancies to supervisory personnel.
- Assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors with locating merchandise, textbooks, and other store materials.
Clerical and Administrative Support:
- Perform routine clerical duties, including filing, scanning, copying, organizing records, and entering information into College systems.
- Answer telephone calls, greet visitors, and direct inquiries to appropriate personnel.
- Assist Business Office staff with routine administrative tasks and departmental projects.
- Maintain organized work areas and assist with the preparation of forms, documents, and other materials.
