When the plant settles into its third-shift rhythm in New Berlin, WI, you become the guardian of precision. As our Precision Metrology Quality Inspector, you ensure every component that leaves our floor aligns with exacting customer specifications and our own uncompromising standards.

A Night in the Role

At 10:00 pm, you review engineering drawings, work orders, specifications, and routers, translating requirements into actionable inspection plans. You verify first-article parts, audit in-process work from 2–4 axis CNC lathes, and check purchased and finished goods. Your gauges, micrometers, indicators, and CMM are your toolkit for holding tight tolerance bands. You document everythinginspection reports, damage and return reports, rework ordersand immediately communicate any deviation to plant supervision. Along the way, you troubleshoot print and BOM discrepancies and lend a hand with ISIR and PPAP submissions. By 7:00 am, the line is set up for success because you were there.

What You’ll Do
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, work orders, and routing documents to determine production standards and allowable tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to prints and bills of materials.
  • Inspect first-article, in-process, incoming/purchased, and finished parts to verify conformance.
  • Conduct routine quality audits per work instructions.
  • Complete all quality documentation: inspection, damage, return, and rework records.
  • Alert supervision to out-of-tolerance or quality concerns.
  • Assist with ISIR and PPAP activities as needed.
What You Bring
  • 2–5 years of metal manufacturing experience in a fast-paced machining environment.
  • Direct experience as a Quality Technician in manufacturing (required).
  • Hands-on metrology skills with calipers, micrometers, and indicators; CMM experience is a plus.
  • Detail-obsessed mindset; ISO 9000/ISO 9001 exposure or certification is a strong advantage.
  • Comfort reading multiple gauges, dials, and other measurement devices.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 30 lbs; frequent walking, bending, and reaching.
