Responsibilities
- Operate a school bus safely and efficiently, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Manage student behavior and enforce safety rules on the bus.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate authorities.
- Assist students with special needs as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement and a passanger endorsement.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Previous experience driving a bus or working with children is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Flexible schedule, including early morning and afternoon hours.
