Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Room patients, record vital signs, document medical histories, and log chief complaints.
  • Orthopedic Procedures: Assist providers during exams, joint injections
  • Casting and Bracing: Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints, braces, and orthopedic boots.
  • Wound Care: Assist with suture/staple removal and perform dressing changes.
  • Patient Education: Instruct patients on proper cast/brace care and the safe use of assistive devices like crutches and walkers.
  • Administrative Tasks: manage electronic medical records (EMR), and coordinate follow-up care. stock exam rooms

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED, with completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
  • Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, orthopedic anatomy, and EMR software.
  • Physical & Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication and the ability to help mobility-impaired patients move safely
