Job Description

The General Production role performs a variety of hands-on tasks in a manufacturing and metal stamping environment. You work near presses, benders, and shears to support production, stack raw and finished products, prepare goods for shipment, and inspect final parts for defects. This position requires reliable attendance, basic math skills, the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity in a small-crew setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general labor tasks within a manufacturing and metal stamping environment.
  • Work near and around presses, benders, shears, and related production equipment.
  • Stack finished and raw products to feed equipment and support ongoing production.
  • Prepare finished goods for shipment, including organizing, packaging, and staging materials.
  • Inspect final parts and products for defects to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Use basic math skills, such as adding and subtracting, in daily tasks and measurements.
  • Lift, push, and pull materials and products weighing up to 40 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of required protective footwear and proper work attire.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient operations.
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality, which is critical in a small-crew environment.
  • Work effectively within a contract-to-hire arrangement and adapt to different shift schedules as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate clearly to support smooth production flow.
  • Show initiative and self-drive by staying engaged, identifying issues, and supporting continuous improvement.

Work Environment

This role is fully on-site in a hardware manufacturing and metal stamping facility. You work as part of a small crew where dependable attendance is essential. The environment involves operating near industrial equipment such as presses, benders, and shears, with a focus on safety and efficient production. Proper work attire is required: short sleeve shirts are allowed, but no bare shoulders, no shorts, and no capris; legs and ankles must be covered. Steel toe footwear is required at all times. The setting is fast-paced, hands-on, and physically active, providing consistent, structured work in a production-focused facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Archbold, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
