Float Direct Support Professional

First Resources Corp needs one full-time float Direct Support Professional to cover our Ottumwa homes. Instead of one house and one routine, you'll rotate across several, learn each home's people and rhythms, and build skills that are valuable if you later want a lead or House Manager role. You get full-time hours, and no two weeks look quite the same.

Schedule

• Full-time, with availability for days, evenings, overnights, and weekends as homes need coverage

• Shifts and sites are assigned by your supervisor 1 month in advance.

What you'll do

• Cover shifts at several Ottumwa homes and get to know the people we support at each one

• Provide hands-on personal care, including mechanical (Hoyer) lift transfers and feeding tube support, after paid training

• Follow each person's support plan and document every shift

• Be the steady, flexible teammate every home counts on

What you'll bring

• Flexibility to work any shift or day of the week

• Comfort with personal care, lifts, and tube feeding (training provided)

• The ability to pass background checks

• Reliable transportation

Pay: $14 to $16 per hour. Float premium is +$1 to base.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school education or equivalent; experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
• Must possess bask knowledge of computers and computer-based programs.
• Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries.
• Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions.
• Successfully complete all new hire orientation checklist.
• Satisfactory attend all required trainings by agency.
• Successfully complete the established medication administration training and observe pass medications accordingly.
• Must have access to a telephone.
• Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company’s insurance.
