Asset & Corporate Finance Associate

Direct Counsel represents aleading global law firm that is seeking amidlevel Corporate Finance Associate to join its Charlotteoffice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with sophisticated transactional experience who wants to work on complex financing matters alongside experienced attorneys while taking on increasing responsibility and client contact.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have 2–6 years of sophisticated law firm experience with:

  • Private equity transactions

  • Private credit

  • Commercial lending

  • Mezzanine finance transactions

  • Secured and unsecured syndicated credit facilities

  • Asset-based lending

  • Acquisition financings

Experience representingboth lenders and borrowers is preferred. Experience with loan workouts and restructurings is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Represent lenders and borrowers in sophisticated financing transactions

  • Work on secured and unsecured syndicated credit facilities

  • Handle asset-based lending and acquisition financing matters

  • Assist with private credit, commercial lending, and mezzanine finance transactions

  • Support clients through complex financing transactions from structuring through closing

  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and clients

  • Take on increasing levels of responsibility and direct client contact

Qualifications
  • 2–6 years of sophisticated law firm experience

  • Experience with corporate finance and/or commercial finance transactions

  • Experience representing both lenders and borrowers strongly preferred

  • Strong experience with secured and unsecured financing transactions

  • Excellent academic credentials

  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality client service

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $210,000–$360,000, commensurate with experience and other relevant factors.
