Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical and electrical repairs, as well as preventive maintenance on food processing equipment, building utilities, and facility systems. This role ensures optimal performance and reliability of equipment while adhering to safety and food manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on food processing equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on building utilities and facility systems.
  • Ensure optimal performance and reliability of all equipment.
  • Adhere to safety and food manufacturing standards during all operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience in maintenance roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of schematics, PLC troubleshooting, and industrial electrical maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.
  • Certification or experience in wastewater operations and ammonia refrigeration is preferred.
  • HVAC Technician License and basic plumbing and welding knowledge are advantageous.
  • Experience with food manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Forklift operator certification and advanced skills in reading electrical drawings are a plus.

Work Environment

The role is based in an indoor manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. The job requires standing and walking on concrete floors for extended periods, frequent bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), twisting, and climbing ladders (up to 30 feet high). This is a full-time position with standard working hours, including the possibility of overtime and weekend shifts as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
