RequirementsEducation & Experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy: Required
- 1–2 years of respiratory care experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential: Required
- State Respiratory Therapist license: Required, where applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS): Preferred or based on facility requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor patients' respiratory and cardiopulmonary status.
- Administer oxygen, aerosol, and other prescribed respiratory treatments.
- Manage ventilators and assist with airway and emergency procedures.
- Perform respiratory care procedures and evaluate patient response to treatment.
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
- Document respiratory assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes accurately.
- Follow infection control, patient safety, and respiratory care protocols.
