A growing industrial equipment manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Estimator to support projects from initial customer request through proposal and award.
The estimator works closely with proposal engineering and other internal teams to review in-house drawings and specifications, develop detailed cost estimates, and help turn engineered concepts into competitive customer proposals.
This is a good fit for someone with manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical, or industrial estimating experience who is comfortable working with technical drawings, detailed cost data, and Excel-based estimating tools.
Key Responsibilities
Develop project estimates from engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
Estimate material, labor, equipment, fabrication, and purchased-component costs
Work closely with Proposal Engineers to understand project scope and technical requirements
Support the full bid-to-award process from initial estimate through final proposal
Review drawings and project changes and update estimates accordingly
Obtain and evaluate vendor and supplier pricing when needed
Maintain Excel-based estimating models, formulas, and cost data
Support proposal development, pricing reviews, and internal approvals
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and project teams
Assist with modifications and changes to existing equipment or project scope
Maintain accurate estimating and project information within internal systems
Requirements
3-5+ years of estimating, cost analysis, manufacturing, or related experience
Experience in industrial manufacturing, mechanical equipment, fabrication, piping, pressure vessels, structural steel, or similar environments preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong Excel skills, including formula-driven estimating and cost analysis
Experience developing estimates involving labor, material, and vendor costs
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids or projects
Experience with Primavera or other ERP/project systems is a plus
Heat exchanger, boiler, pressure vessel, or power-generation experience is helpful but not required
Bachelor’s degree not required; relevant experience will be considered
