Role Overview
Based in Bolingbrook, IL, you will shape how products are builtsafely, repeatedly, and at scale. Your work sits at the intersection of manufacturing engineering, automation, new product introduction, and continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate daily with Design Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and leadership, with clear visibility into decisions that drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and overall manufacturing performance.
A Day in the Life
Your morning might begin on the production floor reviewing a pilot cell, followed by a design review to influence manufacturability, and an afternoon spent validating a fixture or mapping a process flow for a new launch. Along the way, you translate insights into robust processes and equipment upgrades that move seamlessly from concept to production launch.
What You’ll Lead and Deliver
- Own manufacturing engineering projects end-to-endfrom initial planning through development, validation, implementation, and production ramp.
- Research and develop new manufacturing equipment and processes; author standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Continuously identify waste, streamline workflows, and elevate operational efficiency and performance.
- Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, feasibility for manufacture, adherence to standards, and alignment to schedules.
- Participate in design reviews and serve as the manufacturing liaison across the full product lifecyclefrom concept to customer shipment.
- Support new product launches by enhancing manufacturability, reducing manufacturing cost, and improving process reliability.
- Define capital equipment needs and build plans to introduce new technologies and manufacturing capabilities.
- Lead equipment upgrades, process optimization efforts, and innovative improvements across assigned manufacturing assets.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and error-proofing (poka-yoke) to strengthen safety, quality, and process consistency.
- Engage in Process Mapping, FMEA, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), 8-Step Problem Solving, Quality Control Plans, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) activities.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field.
- 5+ years of professional engineering/manufacturing experience.
- Strong computer aptitude, comfortable with data analysis tools and manufacturing datasets.
- Demonstrated problem solver with hands-on root cause analysis experience.
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing Principles.
Preferred (Not Required)
- Project management and/or engineering leadership experience.
- Six Sigma, Red X, or other structured problem-solving certification.
- CAD/CAM experience.
- Cross-functional experience with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and other business functions.
- Background with advanced automation, Industry 4.0, equipment optimization, and manufacturing transformation.

- Compensation: $43–$50 per hour
