Job Description
First Call is looking for a dependable and hardworking General Labor / Material Handler to support daily production and shipping operations at our customer location. This position involves moving and organizing materials, supplying production lines, kitting components, and preparing finished products for shipment.
Attendance and reliability are critical to the success of this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Pull and transport materials to the appropriate production line or work area.
• Keep production areas supplied with the necessary materials.
• Perform kitting by gathering and organizing components according to production requirements.
• Prepare finished products for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and organizing materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and work instructions.
• Perform other general labor and material-handling duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely handle and move materials in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• No ladder work required.
• No power tools required, other than small handheld tools as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Previous warehouse, manufacturing, material handling, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be willing to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• A basic math assessment is required as part of the hiring process. The assessment will evaluate knowledge of measurements, fractions, decimals, and the ability to convert between fractions and decimals.
