Location: Oak Forest, IL

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Receiving Lead to join our team in Oak Forest, IL. In this key leadership role, you will oversee inbound receiving operations, guide dock personnel, ensure strict SKU and inventory accuracy, and maintain strong cross-departmental communication with Production Control and Supply Chain. Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership & Labor Management:

    • Determine daily forklift driver requirements and log GL labor allocations in the system.

    • Lead and direct the receiving team to safely unload inbound materials, count items accurately, tag product, and assign correct warehouse storage locations.

    • Cover team member lunches and assist with end-of-day operational wrap-up activities.

    • Support both Shipping and Receiving operations as business needs fluctuate.

    • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.

  • Inventory, Tracking & Reporting:

    • Track container arrivals and document any incoming discrepancies or container issues.

    • Investigate, verify, and validate inventory counts when shortages or discrepancies occur.

    • Provide daily operational updates on delayed materials and communicate issues directly with Production Control and Supply Chain teams.

    • Ensure all standard receiving procedures and workflows are completed accurately and on time.

  • SKU & Quantity Verification:

    • Verify incoming materials against receiving documentation, confirming SKU and quantity at the pallet, case, and unit levels.

    • Verify lot numbers, batch numbers, expiration dates, and serial numbers according to product and customer specifications.

    • Coordinate with forklift drivers to break down and verify mixed pallets when required.

    • Document and escalate any discrepancies prior to finalizing the receiving process.

  • Quality & Safety Inspection:

    • Visually inspect incoming materials for damage, leakage, or packaging compromise.

    • Ensure incoming products meet labeling, safety, allergen-control, and hazardous-material handling standards.

    • Escalate nonconforming or damaged materials to the Quality team and enforce established hold procedures.

    • Complete required temperature logs for perishable or temperature-sensitive goods and ensure immediate transfer to designated temperature-controlled storage.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous warehouse, receiving, or inventory control leadership experience required.

  • Technical & System Skills: Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), handheld scanners, and inventory control tools.

  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional attention to detail with proven ability to audit, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies.

  • Leadership & Communication: Strong organizational, communication, and multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize daily workloads and guide a team effectively.

  • Schedule: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Monday - Friday)

  • Paid Lunch: 30-minute paid lunch break included daily

  • Pay Frequency: Weekly pay every Friday
