Job Description

Job Description
Own Board-Level Validation for NextGen Energy Systems

Step into a hands-on role where you turn electrical requirements into proof. As a PCBA Validation Engineer, you’ll architect test strategies for nextgeneration battery and energy storage hardware, build the setups, run the experiments, and translate results into actionable design insights.

A Day in the Lab
  • Start with system and electrical requirements, then craft detailed validation and verification plans for PCBAs.
  • Translate ambiguous specsvoltage, current, resistance, loads, interfacesinto clear, repeatable test methods.
  • Select instrumentation, fixtures, loads, environmental conditions, and acceptance criteria tailored to each requirement.
  • Execute hands-on tests on prototype and productionintent boards; measure voltage, current, resistance, continuity, signal behavior, and power performance.
  • Perform HiPot/dielectric withstand and insulation checks to validate electrical safety.
  • Run reliability and repetitive validation to confirm consistent performance over time.
  • Analyze datasets, determine requirement compliance, and document both passing and failing results with evidence.
  • Generate validation reports and present findings to crossfunctional engineering teams.
  • Trace failures back to schematics and design intent; partner with Electrical Engineers on fixes and design changes.
  • Collaborate with Firmware and Systems when behavior is influenced by softwarecontrolled features and interfaces.
  • Help scale validation processes in preparation for Gen 2 battery system deployment and broader test coverage.
How You’ll Collaborate

You’ll work closely with Electrical, Systems, Firmware, and Hardware teams, aligning test methods with design intent and product requirements while iterating rapidly on prototype hardware.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or closely related field.
  • Experience in electrical hardware validation, verification, or test engineering.
  • Fluency in schematics, circuit diagrams, and electrical requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop test plans directly from engineering requirements.
  • Solid grounding in circuits, voltage, current, resistance, loads, and electrical interfaces.
  • Handson PCBA testing experience.
  • Comfort with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, electronic loads, HiPot testers, and related instrumentation.
  • Strength in determining how requirements should be testednot just running predefined procedures.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Methodical, detaildriven approach; adept at troubleshooting unexpected results.
  • Comfort working with evolving prototypes, fixtures, and tooling.
Preferred Extras
  • Background in battery systems, energy storage, EVs, power electronics, aerospace, defense, or other highreliability domains.
  • Experience validating hardware against formal requirements and creating new validation procedures.
  • Familiarity with firmwarecontrolled hardware and electrical interfaces.
  • Crossfunctional experience with Electrical, Firmware, Systems, and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Test fixture development and custom instrumentation selection.
  • Experience with automated test equipment or electronic test bench tools/software.
  • Hardware reliability testing and qualification experience.
