Job Title:Assistant Chief Engineer

Summary:This position must be able to work all shifts, to include weekends. Responsible to manage all aspects of hotel maintenance and maintenance staff. Supervisory experience to manage a large team is expected. Directs, coordinates and performs routine, preventive and emergency interior / exterior maintenance and repairs to obtain optimum efficiency and economy ofhoteloperations. Works with ChiefEngineer to accomplish hotel goals and guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages subordinate department employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, in conjunction with the Chief Engineer. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of order processing systems, word processing, spreadsheet, design, internet, and project management software.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or eight to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
