Medical Laboratory Technologist
Job Summary
Performs laboratory testing on patient specimens to support diagnosis and treatment. Operates and maintains laboratory instruments, performs quality control and verifies results for accuracy. Follows safety and regulatory standards.
Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related science: Required
• Clinical laboratory experience: Preferred
Licenses & Certifications
• Medical Laboratory Scientist certification (ASCP or equivalent) and state licensure where required: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Required
Key Responsibilities
• Perform testing in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, microbiology and blood bank as assigned.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Perform quality control and troubleshoot instrument or test problems.
• Verify results and report critical values promptly.
• Process and handle specimens to maintain sample integrity.
• Follow laboratory safety, regulatory and accreditation standards.
