Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Semiconductor Functional Safety Engineer to support the planning, creation, validation, review, and certification of functional safety work products for advanced Sitara and other processor platforms, including AM62A, AM62P, AM275, J7AEN, and AM283. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams and support TV assessments under the direction of client engineering and management.
Key Responsibilities
· Review functional safety requirements, scope, and assumptions across AM62A, AM62P, AM275, J7AEN, and AM283.
· Plan, create, validate, and maintain functional safety work products and auxiliary documents, including Safety Analysis Reports (SAR), Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS), coexistence analysis, Dependent Failure Analysis (DFA), Failure Mode Analysis (FMA), FMEDA, Functional Safety Manuals, and functional safety analyses.
· Drive and review IP failure mode analyses, requirements traceability, and third-party IP verification with cross-functional teams.
· Review additional functional safety work products throughout plan, create, and validate phases; resolve findings and drive closure.
· Facilitate TV reviews of functional safety work products and coordinate responses to assessor findings.
· Support TV review and delta certification for new package variants, including AM62-Q1 ALW and AM64/243 ANI.
· Drive improvements in functional safety workflows, documentation quality, traceability, and process consistency across Sitara and Processors programs.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
· 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor engineering, embedded systems, or functional safety.
· Working knowledge of ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508.
· Hands-on experience developing semiconductor or SoC functional safety work products, including FMEDA, DFA, safety requirements, and safety manuals.
· Experience with IP-level safety analysis, verification, and requirements traceability.
· Strong technical writing, cross-functional communication, and issue-resolution skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with TI Sitara processors or comparable automotive/industrial SoCs.
· Experience supporting TV or other independent functional safety certification assessments.
· Knowledge of safety mechanisms, diagnostic coverage, safety metrics, and third-party IP integration.
· TV Functional Safety Engineer certification or equivalent.
Ideal Candidate
A hands-on semiconductor functional safety specialist who has personally authored and reviewed technical safety work products, not only coordinated certification programs, and can drive complex deliverables to closure with engineering teams and external assessors.
