NOW HIRING MACHINE OPERATORSJob Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards. This role includes machine setup, quality inspections, basic troubleshooting, material handling, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities
  • Operate manufacturing and production equipment safely and efficiently according to established procedures.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain production standards.
  • Perform routine quality inspections to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and assist with resolving equipment or process issues.
  • Accurately complete production reports, quality documentation, and other required records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies.
  • Load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines.
  • Inspect equipment regularly and report maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company guidelines.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment as required.
Essential Skills
  • Previous manufacturing, production, machine operating, or industrial experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment operation.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds as required.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or varying shifts as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of production processes and quality control procedures.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to become certified.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent attendance, reliability, and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving machinery, varying temperatures, noise, dust, and other industrial conditions. Employees must be comfortable standing for extended periods, performing physical tasks, and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Shift schedules may vary and can include overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts depending on production needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
