Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Location: Neptune, New Jersey

Job Type: Contract – (No Benefits)

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift

Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week

Working Hours: 36 hours per week

Shift Timing: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Pay Rates
  • Local Candidates: $60–$63/hour, based on experience

  • Travel Candidates: $66–$70/hour, based on experience

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) – CVOR will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. The nurse will assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor clinical changes, administer medications safely, and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety and evidence-based nursing practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physiological, psychological, and cognitive evaluations.

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans based on evidence-based nursing practices.

  • Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes in clinical or diagnostic status.

  • Communicate and coordinate care with patients, families, nursing colleagues, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

  • Provide patient and family education tailored to individual needs and treatment plans.

  • Administer medications using barcode scanning and electronic documentation systems to promote patient safety.

  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation of assessments, interventions, care plans, and patient outcomes.

  • Deliver nursing care in accordance with established clinical protocols, policies, and professional standards.

  • Initiate appropriate nursing interventions in response to changes in patient condition or unexpected responses to treatment.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning to support safe transitions and continuity of care.

  • Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and effective communication throughout the care process.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant nursing experience, or active participation in an eligible nurse residency program.

  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
