Community Manager
Hybrid, on the road across the Phoenix area (Maricopa, East Valley, West Valley)
Full-time | $50,000 base + enrollment incentives | Estimated total pay: $65,000
About the roleFlourish Schools is a private school network in the greater Phoenix area built around project-based learning and student ownership. We’re growing fast, and we need someone to drive that growth in the field.
The Community Manager owns four things: sourcing the community-based locations that will become our next schools, enrolling students, making sure our campuses meet Flourish School Standards, and organizing parents and community partners. This is a full-time role with real ownership and real targets.
What you’ll do
Real Estate Sourcing
Research every community-based location in your target areas that could host a Flourish school, including existing schools, churches, YMCAs, Boys & Girls Clubs, community centers, and college campuses
Reach out by email, phone, and in person, and follow every lead until you know whether the space is a fit
Build real partnerships with pastors, faith leaders, and community leaders, not just landlord relationships, by learning what their community wants and needs and aligning it with what Flourish can deliver
Once a site agrees to move forward, hand it off to our Chief Growth Officer
Growth & Enrollment
Drive enrollment by owning each family from first contact through enrollment, then hand them off to the Head of School
Host open houses, workshops, and community events
Test local marketing and community strategies, and scale what works
Campus Operations
Visit each campus every two weeks to ensure it meets Flourish School Standards
Flag anything that falls short to our Chief Academic Officer
Parent Organizing and Community Organizing
Recruit and organize a network of Flourish parents and community supporters
Hold 1:1 meetings with parents to build relationships and find emerging leaders
Help parents understand the local education landscape, who makes decisions, and the power they have together
Coach parents to step into leadership, and lead small, visible actions that show what an organized parent community can do
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with operations, marketing, and admissions on growth
Keep HubSpot accurate so the whole team can see where every family and partner stands
What success looks like
In your first 100 days: secure locations for all 4 to 6 new schools
This fall: hold 1:1 meetings with parents and lead small actions that show what active parents can do. We’ll set specific organizing goals together once you’re on board.
Enroll 180 students across those schools
After that, you’ll be measured on ongoing growth and enrollment
What we’re looking for
A natural seller with real warmth. This is a sales job, but our culture runs on relationships, so you win by building trust
An organizer’s instincts: you understand how parent voice turns into real advocacy power, you help others grow into leaders, and you’re a go-getter who makes things happen
Belief in the power of grassroots organizing and real urgency about improving education for kids
Background in education, sales, or strong operational execution
Comfortable in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment
Can execute on high-level direction without needing a step-by-step playbook
Strong local ties, or the ability to build them quickly, with families and community leaders
Effective on the phone, over email, and in person, including with people who’ve never heard of us
Organized and relentless about follow-through
Reliable vehicle for travel across the Valley
Available weekdays, with some evenings and weekends for events and partner meetings
Spanish is a bonus, not a requirement
Organizing, campaign, or community advocacy experience is a plus
Good to know
Full-time, salaried, starting as soon as possible
