Position Summary

The Universal Banker provides outstanding customer service while performing a broad range of banking functions, including teller transactions, account servicing, account opening, and relationship building. Team members progress through increasing levels of responsibility and independent decision-making as they advance within the role.

General Job Duties

Customer Service & Relationship Building

• Deliver exceptional service in every customer interaction
• Assist customers with account inquiries, transactions, and product information
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
• Build customer relationships through cross-selling and referrals
• Promote bank products and services that meet customer needs

Teller & Transaction Processing

• Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other banking transactions
• Verify transaction accuracy, authorizations, and documentation
• Process loan, credit line, and tax payment transactions
• Balance cash drawers and maintain accurate records
• Support branch cash management and vault operations

Account Services

• Open and maintain deposit accounts according to assigned level
• Ensure proper customer identification and documentation
• Prepare and scan account documents
• Assist with compliance and exception resolution
• Support online banking enrollment and account maintenance

Branch Operations

• Assist with ATM and Cash Express balancing and replenishment
• Process wire transfers (Levels II and III)
• Support branch opening and closing procedures
• Assist other branches as needed
• Maintain compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA responsibilities

• Ability to count currency and process negotiable instruments
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Intermediate computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and banking software systems preferred

Work Environment

This position is located in a professional banking office environment. The role involves frequent interaction with customers, coworkers, cash, and financial information. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required.
