Senior Engineering/Maintenance Manager
Location: Carrollton, GA
Salary: $130-190K
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineering/Maintenance Manager to lead engineering, maintenance, facilities, and continuous improvement functions within a manufacturing environment. This role will oversee a multidisciplinary team including Process, Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls Engineers, as well as Maintenance Technicians, Facilities Personnel, and the Continuous Improvement (CI) team.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong engineering foundation, proven leadership experience, and a track record of driving operational excellence, equipment reliability, capital project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring plant safety, productivity, quality, and long-term operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, and Continuous Improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a strong safety-first culture.
- Partner with engineering and maintenance teams to install, test, and commission new or modified equipment.
- Drive equipment reliability through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Develop and execute plans for machine modifications, equipment upgrades, and new installations.
- Establish and manage 3-5 year strategic plans for equipment, staffing, training, and facility improvements.
- Develop and manage annual capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets and project portfolios.
- Lead large-scale equipment modernization and facility improvement projects.
- Define, monitor, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and cost.
- Review engineering work for technical accuracy, sustainability, and operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to improve plant workflow and resolve recurring operational challenges.
- Communicate project status, budgets, and priorities effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years in an Engineering Management role.
- Experience leading engineering and maintenance teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success managing capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong background in equipment reliability, maintenance strategies, and root cause analysis.
- Proven experience managing budgets, project timelines, and technical personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Experience within the fiber optic, cable, or related manufacturing industry.
- SAP experience.
- Strong continuous improvement background utilizing data-driven decision-making.
- Experience leading large-scale capital projects and facility upgrades.
