Sr ETL Developoer w/ modern Databricks Lakehouse Platform experience. This position will be hybrid in the East Hillsborough County area with 2 days remote per week.
We are looking for a senior data engineering specialist to design and enhance modern data solutions that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational workloads. This role blends deep ETL and database development expertise with hands-on work in the Databricks Lakehouse ecosystem, helping teams build reliable, scalable, and well-governed data assets. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL Server experience, practical knowledge of Databricks technologies, and a collaborative approach to delivering maintainable solutions across business and technology teams.
Responsibilities:
• Build, support, and improve data solutions within the Databricks platform, including notebooks, workflows, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog capabilities.
• Define and maintain data governance structures by organizing catalogs, schemas, tables, storage volumes, access controls, lineage, and quality expectations.
• Create and manage ETL processes for data ingestion, transformation, batch execution, and incremental synchronization across enterprise systems.
• Develop repeatable integration patterns, technical templates, and engineering standards that encourage broader adoption of Databricks across applications.
• Partner with teams using Databricks Lakebase and PostgreSQL to enable transactional, operational, and analytical data use cases.
• Design and maintain AI-driven business intelligence environments using trusted enterprise datasets, semantic layers, user guidance, and sample prompts or queries.
• Investigate and resolve issues affecting pipelines, scheduled jobs, workflows, and overall platform performance.
• Develop, test, and maintain SQL Server database objects such as stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers to support application and integration needs.
• Optimize database performance by refining queries, reviewing execution plans, improving indexing strategies, and addressing locking or concurrency issues.
• Contribute to Agile delivery activities by participating in planning sessions, design discussions, code reviews, and collaboration with stakeholders and application developers.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience working with Databricks in a production or enterprise setting.
