Job Title: Sizing Technician TraineeJob Description

The Sizing Technician Trainee operates grinding, crushing, and screening equipment to produce specific sizes and varieties of chemical pieces and powders according to route cards and written instructions. Working under the guidance of the Sizing Department Supervisor and experienced Sizing Technicians, this role focuses on accurate material sizing, safe equipment operation, and proper packaging, weighing, and labeling of products in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate work centers involved in grinding and crushing materials to achieve specified sizes and product requirements.
  • Screen materials to the proper size in accordance with route cards and supervisor instructions.
  • Bag, package, weigh, and label materials accurately to meet production and quality standards.
  • Set up grinding and crushing equipment with the assistance of other Sizing Technicians.
  • Maintain sizing equipment by performing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Operate a dry box work center to safely handle air- or moisture-sensitive materials.
  • Follow all written procedures, route cards, and safety guidelines during production activities.
  • Monitor equipment performance and promptly report any issues or irregularities.
  • Support a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and timelines.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 2 years of consistent work history demonstrating reliability and dependability.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a chemical, food, pharmaceutical, adhesive, or similar process industry.
  • Ability to operate grinding, crushing, and screening machinery safely and accurately.
  • Ability to follow route cards, written procedures, and supervisor instructions precisely.
  • Strong attention to detail in weighing, packaging, and labeling materials.
  • Capability to perform basic preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Comfort working with powders and bulk materials in an industrial setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Manufacturing experience within a chemical, food, or pharmaceutical company (2+ years).
  • Experience working in environments involving powders, adhesives, or similar materials.
  • Familiarity with handling air- or moisture-sensitive materials, including use of dry box equipment.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment setup and troubleshooting.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a production team on an overnight shift.

Work Environment

The environment involves handling powders and bulk materials, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and adherence to established procedures. You can expect a structured production setting that requires appropriate industrial attire and personal protective equipment suitable for chemical, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
